In response to the growing concerns of urbanization, dwindling green cover, increasing air pollution, and shifting weather patterns, Shri AnanthKumar initiated the Green Sunday program in January 2016. His vision was to ensure that every person in the country had at least one tree. He passionately urged everyone to plant trees every week, igniting a movement for environmental restoration. Since then, Adamya Chetana has been tirelessly organizing the Green Sunday program, consistently running it for 552 consecutive Sundays as of July 2026. This initiative has gained tremendous momentum, inspiring numerous local welfare organisations, youth groups, laughing clubs, and voluntary organizations across Bengaluru, Raichur, Vijayapura and Bellary to join hands in planting and nurturing trees.
The collective efforts of these dedicated individuals and organizations have played a significant role in rejuvenating the greenery of our cities. By actively participating in the Green Sunday program, communities are contributing to a more sustainable future, one tree at a time. Planted 25,000 saplings in 12 Hours and achieved Guinness World Record along with BDA.
ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕಾಂಕ್ರಿಟೀಕರಣ, ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಾಯುಮಾಲಿನ್ಯ, ತಾಪಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿನ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಅನಂತಕುಮಾರವರು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಮರವಾದರೂ ಇರಬೇಕು, ವಾರಕ್ಕೊಮ್ಮೆಯಾದರೂ ಗಿಡನೆಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹಸಿರು ಭಾನುವಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಜನವರಿ 2016ರಂದು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಜುಲೈ 2026ರ ವರೆಗೆ 552 ಸತತ ಭಾನುವಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಹಸಿರು ಭಾನುವಾರಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿಸಿ ಅದಮ್ಯ ಚೇತನ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬಹಳ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಪ್ರೇರಿತರಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ರಾಯಚೂರು , ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿಗಳ ಹಲವಾರು ನಾಗರಿಕ ಹಿತರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಸಮಿತಿಗಳು, ಯುವ ತಂಡಗಳು, ನಗೆಕೂಟಗಳು, ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು, ಕಂಪನಿಗಳು ಗಿಡ ನೆಡುವ-ಪೋಷಿಸುವ ಅಭಿಯಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೈ ಜೋಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
